The Tatton Companies were originally founded, in 1947 as “E.M. Tatton Ltd.”, by Edward Tatton, an electrical engineer, who was one of the first to export Generators, Cable and Electrical Equipment from the U.K. to the Far East and other countries whilst also creating a substantial customer base in the U.K..
The Company continued this activity for many years, whilst developing expertise in the supply of specialised electrical equipment to the Oil Industry and also the Film and Television Industries.
In the early 1970’s Tatton was one of the major importers of Power Generating Equipment to help supply the demand created by the Power Workers` and Miners` strikes. The Company had by then been acquired by Brian Tatton, Edward’s son and expanded into the Manufacture of Generator Sets, with “Tatton Generators” and “Tatton Electric” as well as Machine Tool Sales, with “Axis Machinery”, and “Precision Engineering” with “Tatton Engineering” also Film and Television Lighting, with “Cinequip Lighting”
In 1981 Brian Tatton became Chairman and Managing Director of “Puma Power Plant”, a major U.K manufacturer and exporter of Power Generation Equipment and Managing Director and owner of “Powerent” a leading Generator Rental company. He was subsequently appointed Chairman of AMPS, the British Generator Manufatcurers Association.
Following the disposal of these Companies in subsequent years. Brian Tatton now specialises in the purchase, sale and rental of Pre-Owned Generating Equipment and the provision of Temporary Rental Power to the Film and Television Industries.
